Just a general message to remind all horse riders to be aware of the following:-
We have had an increase of thefts around tack rooms, livery yards etc. i.e. Mobile phones taken from unlocked vehicles in the yard.
Please remember to lock your tack rooms and vehicles when leaving the yard to go out for a hack; you never know who is out and about!
Hacking out
If possible, try and hack out with a friend, I know that this is not always possible, but if you are on your own, take your mobile phone with you and let someone know that you are on your own, where you plan to ride and how long you expect to be. Your safety is paramount!
Checking Fields
Take some time during this nice weather and the pleasant evenings, whilst poo picking your fields, to check its parameters, ensure that the fences / hedges / gates etc are all in order and not in need of repair.
It’s also a good time to check for any Ragwort and remove.
STAY SAFE and enjoy the good weather………..
